'Paramilitary style' shooting in west Belfast

Police in west Belfast have appealed for information following a paramilitary style shooting yesterday evening.

The incident happened at around 8.50pm, when an 18-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the leg as he made his way along the Glen Road area of the city near Rosnareen.

The injured man was taken to hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting, or who may have any information in connection with it, should contact detectives in west Belfast on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

PSNI Appeal For Information About West Belfast Shooting
The PSNI have appeal for witnesses to or any one with any information about a shooting incident in west Belfast on Wednesday night. A man was shot in the leg at Creeslough Gardens at around 21:30 on Wednesday night. It is understood that victim is in his 40s and his injuries are not life threatening.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.

Man Released Over West Belfast Shooting
A 39-year-old man arrested over a shooting incident in west Belfast on Monday has been released unconditionally. The incident at around 7.40pm on the Springfield Road saw the victim chased by a gunman before being shot a number of times. The suspect made off along Kashmir Road, while the victim was left in critical condition in hospital.

Man Critical After West Belfast Shooting
A man has been left in critical condition after he was a shot in west Belfast. Police said the incident, which occurred at around 7.40pm on Monday evening, saw the 30-year-old man chased along the Springfield Road by an armed gunman and shot a number of times. The suspect is believed to have made off on foot along Kashmir Road after the shooting.

Man Arrested Over West Belfast Shooting
A man has been arrested in connection with a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast. A man, aged in his 30's, was shot in both legs in an alleyway near Westrock Gardens at around 10.30pm on Saturday, 04 August. A 40-year-old man has been detained in police custody.
