Man questioned after hit-and-run incident

Detectives investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident in County Antrim last week, have arrested a man.

Seamus Griffin, 58, from Oriel Road in Antrim, died following a collision on Boxing Day when he was knocked of his bicycle by a car while travelling along the Castle Road area of Randalstown.

The car was later found abandoned.

A man was arrested yesterday evening in the Antrim area, and is currently being questioned by police.

Four other men, who were also arrested in connection with the incident, have since been released.

Last night's arrest followed a police reconstruction of the collision on Tuesday afternoon.

Man Arrested After Shots Fired In North Belfast
Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting incident in north Belfast. It is understood that the 22-year-old man was arrested following reports of shots being fired on Oceanic Avenue at about 21:50 on Thursday. Police say that a parked car was damaged in the incident.

Man Arrested Following Lisburn Assault Released
A man arrested following an assault in Lisburn has been released on bail pending further enquiries, according to the PSNI. The 21-year-old was arrested following an incident in the Rathvarna Drive and Beechwood Grove area at around 1.30am on Tuesday, 12 July.

Man Charged Over Murder Of Anne O'Neill
A 27-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Anne ONeill. The 51-year-old victim died from her injuries following an incident at a house in the Ardmore Avenue area in Finaghy on Saturday, 21 October. The suspect is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 25 October.
