Man struck by car during Yorkgate robbery

Police in north Belfast are investigating an incident in which a 50-year-old man was hit by a getaway car during a robbery.

Bags containing thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes were stolen from a bond delivery van in the Yorkgate area at around 2pm this afternoon.

The man struck by the vehicle was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Detectives believe the getaway car was black Ford Focus, with the registration number LCZ 5479.

Serious Road Crash In L'Derry
A serious road crash has occurred on the Chapel Road in L'Derry. A car and a motorbike where involved in the incident, according to the police. One man, believed to be a teenager, has been taken to hospital where his injuries are believed to be serious. The road has been closed at its junctions with Newlyn Terrace and Spencer Road.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault in east Belfast on Thursday 29th February. At approximately 11.20pm last night police were called to a property in the Montrose Street area following the report of an injured woman.

Man Arrested After Shots Fired In North Belfast
Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting incident in north Belfast. It is understood that the 22-year-old man was arrested following reports of shots being fired on Oceanic Avenue at about 21:50 on Thursday. Police say that a parked car was damaged in the incident.

Armed robbery in south Belfast
Police in south Belfast have appealed for information following an armed robbery at a petrol station yesterday evening. The incident happened at around 10.30pm, when a man armed with a knife entered the premises in the Finaghy area of the Upper Lisburn Road, and threatened a member of staff.
