Magherafelt Murder Sees One Man Charged
A 28-year-old man has appeared at Londonderry Magistrates Court charged with murdering Declan McNeill in Magherafelt at the weekend.
The court heard that when Ryan Loughran was charged with the murder of 41-year-old Declan McNeill he said ‘no, not at this stage’.
Mr Loughran was interviewed five times in relation to the murder and gave a full account of his involvement in the matter according to a police witness.
Mr Loughran was remanded in custody to appear at Magherafelt Magistrates Court on August 28, with no application made for bail.

Four Charged In Connection With Blake Newland Murder
Four people are due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court charged in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Blake Newland. The Limavady teenager died after being found with serious stab wounds at a house in the town on Friday, 02 February. Detectives investigating the murder, have now charged two men, aged 27 and 29, with murder.

New Pilot Scheme Announced To Test Filming NI Appeal Court Judgements
A new pilot scheme to film the deliver of judgments in the Court of Appeal in Northern Ireland, has been announced by the Lady Chief Justice, Dame Siobhan Keegan. It is understood that during the pilot scheme, none of the judgements will be broadcast, but the filming used to test the process and inform future decisions.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.

Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Man Stabbed In Co Down
A 36-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Co Down. The 54-year-old victim was stabbed in the Manor Court area in Moira on Monday. He is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital. The woman is to appear at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

A 31-year-old man who appeared before Lisburn Magistrates Court today has denied a charge of attempted murder. Sean Alphonsis Cochrane from Conway Link in the city was charged following the stabbing of a man on Wednesday evening.
