Youth to appear in court over south Belfast murder

A teenager is to appear in court today charged with the murder of a man in south Belfast.

The 14-year-old youth is to appear in court in Belfast in relation to the murder of 30-year-old Ian Flanagan whose body was found at Queen's University playing fields on Sunday morning.

Mr Flanagan, who was originally from Keady in south Armagh, but had been living in Donegall Avenue, was found with severe head injuries close to a hockey pitch near the university.

Another youth was questioned about the murder but was released by police yesterday.

Four Injured In North Belfast Attack
Police have held two men on suspicion of attempted murder following an attack in north Belfast. The incident occurred in the Woodvale Drive area on Sunday morning. The suspects, aged 26 and 32, were arrested after being treated in hospital for their injuries.

Arrest Over Attempted Murder
Police have arrested a 25-year-old man in on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident on the Limestone Road in north Belfast on Friday night. A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries sustained during the attack, in which a number of people are believed to have been involved.
