Court Upholds Contractor's 'Flawed' Tendering Allegations
A High Court hearing, brought by a Northern Ireland construction firm, has ruled the tendering process for £800 million worth of government contracts was flawed.
McLaughlin and Harvey Ltd instructed lawyers to take action against the Department of Finance, claiming it had been excluded from bidding for the massive contract.
The Mallusk builders alleged the Department's shortlisting process was flawed and breached European law.
The company wanted to be included on a list of companies eligible to tender for major projects.
Mr Justice Deeny found a number of issues should have been disclosed.
A further hearing will be held next month to will determine whether damages are paid or the firm can now access the tendering process.

Dept Of Health Extends Counselling Contract With Nexus
The Department of Health (DoH) has announced that it has extended a contract with Nexus for counselling services. Nexus was awarded a three-year contract in April 2019 to provide a specialist counselling service for victims of sexual abuse, with an option for two one-year extensions. The second of these extensions ceases on 31 March 2024.
