Radiographer Found Guilty Of Downloading Child Porn

A 52-year-old man has been placed on the sex offenders register after being found guilty of downloading indecent images of children.

Ivor Gilfillan, a radiographer at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry from Burnally Road, Limavady pleaded guilty to downloading the images between June 2004 and last February.

He appeared at Londonderry Crown Court on Wednesday where the jury heard the accused had downloaded 26,000 images from the internet, some of which included the most serious category - level five.

Gilfillan has been suspended from his post at the hospital. He is due to be sentenced next month.

Limavady Murder Victim Named As 17-Year-Old Blake Newland
A 17-year-old boy murdered in a stabbing in Limavady on Friday, 02 February has been named by the PSNI as Blake Newland. At around 9.35pm last Friday night, police responded to a report that a man, aged his 50s, has been stabbed in an incident in the Limavady area.
