Adams Demands Clarity On Vodafone Jobs |
|
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams has called on Vita Cortex owner Jack Ronan to settle the dispute with workers who are on the eve of their one hundredth day of occupation of the Cork factory.
Mr Adams sent solidarity greetings to the workers today.
He said: "There is huge support for the Vita Cortex workers across the island as they head towards one hundred days of their sit-in protest.
"On behalf of Sinn Féin I want to offer the workers our continued support and send solidarity greetings to them at this time.
"This dispute has been allowed to rumble on for far too long and I would encourage the factory owner Jack Ronan to settle the dispute now in a manner acceptable to the workers.
"The government's inaction on this issue is unacceptable. Legislation must be brought forward immediately to ensure that a situation similar to this can never happen again."
