Young Angus Entrepreneurs Get Tips From Apprentice Finalist |
|
Young Angus entrepreneurs got some top business tips from one of the finalists of hit BBC show The Apprentice on Wednesday 18 April.
Organised by Angus Council in conjunction with the Business Gateway, the event was aimed at 5th and 6th year pupils who are studying or are interested in business/enterprise, from each of the secondary schools in Angus.
In 2011, Jim Eastwood was one of the final four contestants in the seventh UK series of The Apprentice. This event is topical given that series eight of The Apprentice is now on BBC One.
During his session in Angus, Jim talked to the pupils about his background and early life, why he applied for the show, his many experiences during The Apprentice, what he learned from his time on the show, and his plans for the future.
Jim motivated and encouraged the pupils by explaining in an entertaining manner the importance of being entrepreneurial in the wider sense, identifying and seizing opportunities, setting goals and getting the best from yourself, and fulfilling your ambitions.
Jim, who was told by Lord Sugar that “he was the greatest salesperson he’s ever had”, also explained his role in encouraging people to be entrepreneurial and maximise their potential, before answering questions from the pupils.
