Erne's Best Broadcasts To German Market |
|
A crew from a German TV channel VOX TV was filming in one of Northern Ireland's most picturesque areas during September.
They followed a German family, Martin and Barbara Baumann and their children, as they were arriving by seaplane at Lough Erne Golf Resort and enjoying a three-day break in Fermanagh.
Images of Lough Erne Golf Resort and Fermanagh's Lakelands will be broadcast this week to approximately 600,000 Germans on a popular TV travel show.
The TV programme will also show the Baumann family fishing on Lough Erne, enjoying an evening of music at the Crow's Nest in Enniskillen, as well as visiting Devenish Island and the Sheelin Irish Lace Museum and enjoying some outdoor activities at Lusty Beg Island, (pictured here by Brian McCalden).
Jonathan Stapleton, General Manager, Lough Erne Golf Resort said, "Lough Erne Golf Resort, The Gateway To North West Ireland, are delighted to showcase The Resort to the German Market through VOX TV.
"Germany is a key strategic market for Lough Erne Golf Resort. Like the Baumann family, German tourists will get to experience the resort's many offerings which include a variety of innovative dining experiences, Championship Golf, the Thai Spa, fly fishing, and much more, set within the beauty of the Fermanagh Lakelands, while enjoying five star luxury," he said.
The visit of the TV crew and the Baumann family was organised by Tourism Ireland in Frankfurt in conjunction with NITB and Lough Erne Golf Resort.
Footage included the family taking part in a golf lesson on the resort's Faldo course and enjoying a treatment in the Thai Spa, before sitting down to a delicious dinner in the privacy of their Loughside Lodge cooked by acclaimed chef Noel McMeel.
Kristina Gauges, Tourism Ireland Germany, said: "The programme 'Stern TV Reportage' is watched regularly by about 600,000 viewers, so this is a great way to highlight the many things to see and do in this part of Northern Ireland; from boating and fishing on Lough Erne, to historic sites like Devenish Island and not forgetting the strongest asset, the warm welcome of the Fermanagh people.
"Germany is an important market for tourism to Northern Ireland, last year delivering 40,000 German visitors.
"We have a strong and comprehensive promotional campaign under way this autumn in Germany, with particular emphasis on value for money offers as well as the many activities and things to see and do in Fermanagh and throughout Northern Ireland."
