Price Released Without Charge

A former IRA bomber being held by detectives in Northern Ireland over the killings of two soldiers at Massereene army barracks has been released without charge.

Marian Price, 55, was arrested in west Belfast on Tuesday morning.

Ms Price served time in prison for her part in the 1973 IRA bombing at the Old Bailey in London. One person was killed in the attack, with 200 others suffering injuries.

Ms Price severed ties with Sinn Féin in the wake of the 1998 Good Friday Agreement.

She is still an active republican, representing the 32 County Sovereignty Movement, considered by many the political wing of the Real IRA.

A 39-year-old Tyrone man also detained by police over the Antrim shootings in March was today also released without charge.

So far 12 people have been questioned by officers over the attack. Sappers Patrick Azimkar, 21 and Mark Quinsey, 23, (pictured) lost their lives when Real IRA gunmen opened fire outside the army base, seriously wounding five others.

Two people have been charged in connection with the murders, known republican Colin Duffy, 41, and Brian Shivers, 44, from Sperrin Mews in Magherafelt.
