Saturdays Turn Stormont Yellow For Cancer

Pop stars Una Healy and Rochelle Wiseman from The Saturdays were at Parliament Buildings at Stormont to help launch Marie Curie Cancer Care's Great Daffodil Appeal.

As the band's chosen charity for 2011, the girls were pictured with local Marie Curie Nurse Carmel McCullough as they helped turn Stormont a Daffodil yellow to raise awareness of Marie Curie's flagship fundraiser, which takes place throughout March.

Marie Curie Cancer Care has been turning iconic sites across the length and breadth of the UK yellow including Londonderry Civic offices which will illuminate for the whole month of March, Gateshead Millennium Bridge and the National Gallery of Scotland.

The Great Daffodil Appeal is the charity’s annual fundraiser and in Northern Ireland it aims to raise over £100,000.

Throughout March everyone in the region is encouraged to give a donation in return for a Marie Curie daffodil pin.

All money raised enables Marie Curie Nurses to provide more free care to people with a terminal illness in their own homes and the charity's hospices.
