Polish Man's Appeal Rejected |
|
A Polish man found guilty of murdering Shirley Finlay, 24, in Ballymena has failed in his appeal to have the murder conviction overturned.
Henryk Gorski, 55, was found guilty in October 2009 of beating and strangling the young woman, and is serving at least 20 years in jail for the murder.
The victim's body was discovered dumped in a car park in September 2006.
Gorski still maintains his innocence, however the Court of Appeal said the evidence left no doubt that he had been responsible for the killing.
Lord Chief Justice Sir Declan Morgan upheld the verdict and dismissed the appeal.
A further challenge to the minimum 20 year sentence will be heard later this year.
