Belfast's InShops To Close |
|
InShops in Belfast's city centre are set to close it has been revealed this afternoon.
The 25 shops which employ around 60 people have until June 26 to evacuate the premises.
According to the centre's manager the news was broke on Thursday last and came as a shock.
InShops, located in the city's High Street, is home to a wide range of small retailers and a food court.
The shopping centre is owned by the French company Group Geraud.
The news comes as media reports earlier in the week blame highstreet closures and administrations on shoppers opting to use internet rivals.
Accountancy firm Deloitte, last week, claimed that a total of 69 retailers collapsed in 2011, up from 60 in the same period of the previous year, as the squeeze on consumer spending and the growing popularity of online retailers took their toll.
