Murdoch 'Not Fit' To Run An International Firm, MPs Say |
|
Rupert Murdoch is "not a fit person" to run an international firm a committee of MPs has concluded.
In a shocking report into the News of the World phone hacking scandal, the Culture Media and Sport Committee said he showed a "wilful blindness" to what was going on in his companies.
The report accused former senior executive's of News International, Les Hinton, Colin Myer and Tom Crone of lying to the committee during its investigations.
The report stated: "This culture, we consider, permeated from the top throughout the organisation and speaks volumes about the lack of effective corporate governance at News Corporation and News International.
"We conclude, therefore, that Rupert Murdoch is not a fit person to exercise the stewardship of a major international company."
