Teenage Girl Found Dead In Tent |
|
A 14-year-old girl has been found dead in a tent on a campsite in Shropshire alongside the unconscious bodies of other family members.
Hannah Thomas-Jones was found in the tent alongside her brother, mother and stepfather. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene by West Midlands Ambulance service.
Her mother and stepfather have left hospital and it is hoped her brother will be well enough to leave hospital later today.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing but it is known that a used disposable barbecue was found close to Hannah.
A statement has been released by the hospital on behalf of the family: "We are devastated by this tragic accident and would ask that you respect our privacy at this time."
The head teacher at Wilmslow High School, where Hannah was in year nine, said her death was a very sad loss.
Head teacher Gillian Bremner said: "She was a very able girl and was just about to do a short course in religious studies which we expected her to get an A* in."
