More Than 28.000 Deaths Linked To UK Pollution

A study carried out by Public Health England has revealed for the first time the worst areas for air pollution across the UK, which are linked to more than 28,000 deaths in one year.

The deaths are linked to the long-term exposure to particle air pollution over many years, although the rates are different depending on the part of the UK.

Kensington and Chelsea are the two local authorities that have the highest numbers of deaths linked to the poor air quality where 8.3% of deaths of those aged over 25 are caused in part by the air pollution.

Some rural areas of Scotland and Northern Ireland have a rate of a 2.5%.

The figures were calculated over annual average concentrations of man-made particles and their impacts on health.

Kylie Minogue Quits The Voice

Pop singer star Kylie Minogue has quit The Voice after only one series due to touring commitments.

The 45-year-old started as a coach on the talent show last year replacing Jessie J, and she was supported by increasing viewing figures during the first episodes.

The singer said: "I absolutely loved my time on the show, and I'll miss all of the incredible people who were a part of my experience.”

Despite the singer quitting the BBC show has already ordered another two series of the program but it has not yet confirmed whether Mr Minogue's fellow presenters Tom Jones, Ricky Wilson and will.i.am will return for the fourth series next year.
