Lorry Driver Arrested Over M26 Pile-Up

A 45-year-old lorry driver has been arrested in connection with a road accident that killed two people and left seven others injured.

A 22-year-old woman and 16-year-old girl died in the five-vehicle pile up on the M26 near Kemsing which happened around 09:40 on Wednesday morning.

The carriage was closed for a number of hours after the crash, and did not fully reopen until 4am.

Police have arrested the lorry driver in connection with the crash.

Six of the injured are being treated at the Royal London, St George's and King's College hospitals in London, with the seventh going to East Surrey Hospital.

Driver Of Glasgow Bin Lorry Crash Discharged
The driver of a bin lorry that killed six people in Glasgow has been discharged from hospital. The 57-year-old man, who has not been named, was released from Glasgow's Wester Infirmary on Monday. Police would not say whether the driver had been questioned. He is believed to have suffered a heart attack or seizure at the wheel.

Lorry Driver Jailed For M6 Death Crash
A Portuguese lorry driver has been found guilty of causing the deaths of a family of six in a crash on the M6. Paulo Jorge Nogueira da Silva was sentenced to three years in jail after killing the Statham family, of Llandudno, when the 40-tonne lorry he was driving hit their car as they travelled home from Birmingham.

Driver Impaled In Lorry Crash
An investigation is underway after a lorry driver became impaled on a metal pole after crashing into gates. The 37-year-old was delivering timber to a building site in Dodsworth Street in Darlington, in County Durham, when his vehicle collided with an open gate on Tuesday.
