Teen Rescued After Mountain Fall

A teenager who sustained cuts and bruises and a suspected dislocated shoulder had to be rescued by helicopter from Mount Errigal in Co Donegal.

It is understood that the teen was walking with a friend when he lost his footing and fell down a steep slope on Monday evening.

High winds and inaccessibility almost resulted in the helicopter from Malin Head Coast Guard having to abandon the rescue attempt, however two members of Donegal Mountain Rescue were able to be airlifted down to the teenager, who was put on a stretcher and airlifted to safety.

Digger Used To Tear Up Football Pitch

A stolen digger is thought to have been used to tear up a football pitch at sports grounds next to the Valley Leisure Centre in Newtownabbey.

People out walking their dog raised the alarm at about 21:00 on Monday at the grounds on O'Neill Road.

The football pitch was attacked with the digger alongside damage caused to a running area and goal posts being knocked down.

Police have appealed for information.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Being Drunk In Charge Of A Horse

Police in Londonderry have arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of being drunk in charge of a horse.

The man was arrested in Feeny, Co Londonderry at about 22:30 on Sunday.

He has been released pending further investigation.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.

Belfast Man Handed Two-Year Stalking Protection Order
The PSNI have welcomed a two-year Stalking Protection Order (SPO) handed down to a 46-year-old Belfast man at Belfast Magistrates Court. The man had been found guilty of stalking and harassing his 50-year-old female ex-partner.

Man Wanted In Ireland On Drug Offences Arrested In South Belfast
A 59-year-old man wanted in the Republic of Ireland has been arrested in south Belfast by the PSNI's International Policing Unit. Wanted to stand trial for drugs offences that occurred in the Kilkenny area in 2012.
