Belfast security alert declared a hoax |
|
A security alert in the centre of Belfast has been declared an elaborate hoax.
Traffic was disrupted for a time in the Ormeau Avenue area on Friday afternoon following a police search.
Meanwhile, almost four million cigarettes have been seized in Belfast Docks.
The seizure by local customs officers contained Sovereign Classic cigarettes worth £700,000.
The shipment arrived in Belfast from the Far East on Thursday.
