Jet2 Announce New Belfast Jobs
Jet2 has confirmed it is to create 86 new jobs at Belfast International Airport.
The announcement comes as the airline said it is to charter flights to new destinations from the airport.
The new routes will operate to Gran Canaria, Prague, Rome and Zante.
The jobs are understood to include flight and cabin crew, engineers and ground operations staff.
Rome and Prague will be served by twice weekly flights, with the other routes will see one flight a week.
The news comes just a week Virgin Atlantic confirmed it is to run a short summer service to Orlando, while Easyjet also recently confirmed it was to introduce a new service to Iceland which will begin in December this year.

Appeal Following Fatal Collision On Curr Road
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision on Tuesday, 05 march between Omagh and Ballygawley. Shortly before 7.25pm on Tuesday evening, police received a report of a collision on the Curr Road involving a white BMW 320 and blue Scania lorry.

Eight Police Officers Assaulted On Duty Every Day
On average, eight police officers were assaulted while on duty every day over the last five years, according to new statistics released by the PSNI. Commenting on the "stark" statistics, Superintendent Gary Busch from the PSNI's Operational Support Department said: "In 2022/23, we had 3,272 assaults on officers reported to us.

Northern Ireland was the fastest-growing region of the UK for newly registered companies in 2023, according to a new index from Ulster Bank and Beauhurst. The New Startup Index highlights how in 2023 Northern Ireland gained 14,000 new companies, a 59% increase on 2022.
