Motorcyclist Dies In Co Down Crash
A motorcyclist has died in a crash near Ballynahinch in County Down on Monday.
Police said the one-vehicle accident occurred on the Downpatrick Road at the junction of the Mossvale Road just before 18:00.
The area between the Comber Road and Magheralone Road was sealed for a time during investigations, but the road has since been reopened to traffic.
Alliance Down Councillor Patrick Clarke said: "I am deeply saddened that this motorcyclist has lost his life on the road. I would like to express my sympathies to his family and friends.
"We must do more to improve road safety to prevent further lives being lost on our roads. I know the Environment Minister has looked to improve road safety through several high profile campaigns, but it is clear that he must increase his efforts.
"I would urge all road users to use extra caution when out on the road and to be vigilant of others."

A 21-year-old man has died in a road traffic collision near Gilford, Co Armagh. The man is understood to have died after his motorcycle collided with a tractor on the Ballymacanallen Road at around 1.25pm on Wednesday. An investigation has been launched and police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
