Man Denies Assaulting George Galloway

A man has pleaded not guilty to assaulting MP George Galloway.

Mr Galloway was posing for photographs with supporters in London on Friday evening when he was attacked.

The incident happened on the Golborne Road in Notting Hill.

The MP is said to have suffered broken ribs, and bruising and cuts to his face in the attack.

A 39-year-old man, named as Neil Masterson, appeared at Hammersmith Magistrates' Court today (1 September) and denied religiously aggravated assault, it has been reported.

Max Clifford Launches Appeal Over 8-Year Sentence
Max Clifford has launched an appeal against his eight-year sentence for indecently assaulting four women and girls between 1977 and 1984. According to reports Mr Clifford's defence barrister has gone to the Court of Appeal to argue that the length of the sentence had been "unfair" and that Mr Clifford is not a danger to women.

Piano Teacher Jailed For Abusing Pupils
Renowned concert pianist John Briggs has been found guilty of indecently assaulting music pupils. The 65-year-old had denied the charges, which involved boys aged 10 to 15 and dated between 1969 and 1993. The boys had been taking lessons with the concert pianist.

Fresh Abuse Claims Made Against Former Music School Teachers
More ex-pupils of the Chetham's School of Music in Manchester have come forward and made allegations of sexual abuse about other former teachers at the school. The news follows the conviction on Friday last of former choir director Michael Brewer and ex-wife Kay for indecently assaulting Frances Andrade between 1978 and 1982.
