PSNI Name New Deputy Chief Constable
Drew Harris has been appointed as the new deputy chief constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).
He takes over the role from Judith Gillespie, who stepped down in March.
Last week, it was revealed only two candidates had applied for the position.
Policing Board Chair Anne Connolly said: "Drew brings immense experience and knowledge of policing to the job and will have a key role in supporting the Chief Constable and colleagues in leading the PSNI forward.
"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the unsuccessful candidate for their interest in the post and also Temporary Deputy Chief Constable Finlay for his work over the last number of months."
Mr Harris has more than 30 years' experience with the police.
