Police Appeal For Information On Islamic Centre Break-In
South Wales Police have appealed for information after an Ismalic centre in Grangetown was ransacked.
Police say that the Rabbaniah Islamic Cultural Centre was broken into, £3,500 was stolen, and extensive damage was caused to the interior of the building.
It is understood that the break-in occurred sometime between Sunday night and Monday lunchtime.
Both the force and the centre said there was no indication it was a hate crime.
Rucksack Sighting In Missing Schoolgirl Investigation
Police investigating the disappearance of 14-year-old Alice Gross have said they have received a report of a new sighting of her rucksack.
The teenager has been missing since 28th August.
Police had appealed for information to help trace her missing mobile phone, which they say could contain information vital to their investigation.
It is understood that a couple have reported seeing her rucksack, prior to police finding it on 2nd September.
Scotland Yard has urged anyone else who saw the rucksack to come forward.
Teachers Group Critical Of Unannounced School Inspections
Unannounced school inspections, as proposed by regulator Ofsted, treat staff like "naughty children", the Association of School and College Leaders has said.
Ofsted announced on Monday that it was going to introduce 40 no warning inspections this month, which they say would test the feasibility of unannounced inspections, proposed after the Trojan Horse inquiries in Birmingham schools.
However, Brian Lightman, head of the Association, has said that unannounced inspections are "counter-productive", "stifles creativity and treats professionals like naughty children."

The release of a man convicted of killing three unarmed police officers in 1966 has been described as "sickening". Harry Roberts, now aged 78, has been released from prison after serving 48 years for 1966 murders of three unarmed police officers in Shepherd's Bush in west London.

Major Police Hunt Launched After Boy Taken From Hospital
A major police hunt has begun after a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour, was taken by his family without consent from Southampton General Hospital. Police said that Ashya King was taken from the hospital by Brett King, 51, and Naghemeh King, 45, on Thursday. It is thought he may have been taken to France.

'Skull Cracker' In Custody In London
Kent Police, in partnership with officers from the Metropolitan Police Service, have arrested two men in East London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. On 3 May, Kent Police began a search for Michael Wheatley, 55, who had failed to return to HMP Standford Hill after being released on temporary licence.

Riot Police Deployed As G8 Protesters Occupy Former Police Station
Some 100 riot police have been deployed in central London as protestors take to the streets to demonstrate ahead on the G8 summit being held in Northern Ireland next week. Officers were sent to Soho, where protesters are thought to have occupied a former police station on Beak Street.
