British MH17 Victim Glenn Thomas To Be Buried In Lancashire

The 15 October has been set as the date for the funeral of a British victim of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which was shot down in Ukraine in July.

Glenn Thomas, who was from Blackpool but lived in Geneva, was among 298 people who died, when the flight was brought down in northern Ukraine.

His funeral is to be held at Lowther Pavilion on Lancashire's Fylde coast.

Mr Thomas's body was brought back to the UK last week.

Funeral Held For Blackpool Victim Of MH17 Air Crash
The funeral has taken place of Glenn Thomas, who died in the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 air crash. Mr Thomas (49), from Blackpool, was one of 298 people who died in July when the flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was brought down over northern Ukraine. He was buried in a humanist service at Lowther Pavilion in Lytham.

Malaysia Airlines have reported that at least nine Britons were on board flight MH17, which crashed in eastern Ukraine while en-route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

Thomas Cook Flight Skids Off Runway
A Thomas Cook chartered flight carrying British passengers has skidded off the runway of an airport in the Canary Isles. The Air Europa Boeing-737 flight from Glasgow to Lanzarote came off the runway after touching down at the island's Arrecife airport at around 7.10am on Friday.

Mother Of Baby Abandoned In Arcade Charged With Attempted Murder
The mother of a child found abandoned in the toilets of an amusement arcade in Southport, has been arrested. The newborn baby was found by staff at Silcock's Amusements in Merseyside, last Thursday. The child is being cared for by staff at Ormskirk Hospital, Lancashire later, who have named her April.
