New Order For Bombardier CSeries
One of the largest orders to date has been placed with Bombardier.
The organisation's Belfast division has received an order for 50 new CSeries aircraft.
It is understood 40 of the CS300 aircraft are being purchased by Macquarie AirFinance in a deal valued at around £1.84bn. The firm also has an option to purchase 10 more of the jets.
Macquarie AirFinance, currently owns or manages 136 jet aircraft leased to 73 operators in 43 countries across six continents. They will lease the CS300 aircraft to airline operators around the world.
The wings for the aircraft will be constructed in Belfast and 800 jobs will be supported by the investment. It is thought delivery of the machines will be on a phased basis from 2017 to 2019.
In a statement, Mike Arcamone, President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, said: "Macquarie AirFinance's selection of the CS300 aircraft is a strong endorsement of the aircraft type and we are looking forward to working with this unique lessor to expand the market for our 100%-new jetliner.
"We anticipate continued momentum in the CSeries aircraft program as we confirm our performance predictions for the aircraft."
Stephen Cook, Chairman of Macquarie AirFinance, added: "We welcome the addition of Bombardier's CS300 to Macquarie AirFinance's portfolio. This agreement is consistent with Macquarie AirFinance's approach of seeking carefully considered transactions to expand the reach of our successful aircraft leasing business."

Bombardier Secures Largest C Series Order
Bombardier has secured it largest C Series order from Delta Air Lines. The American airline has agreed to acquire 75 CS100 aircraft with the option for 50 more. The order is valued at approximately $5.6 billion (£3.84bn). The firms CSeries wings are made at its site in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Belfast Aircraft Maker Signs Contractors
Contracts have been awarded to two UK companies for work on Northern Ireland-based Bombardier's CSeries commercial aircraft programme. Representing a major investment by the Belfast aircraft engineering firm, the deal with GKN Aerospace will see it supplying the winglet for the CSeries aircraft from its composites centre on the Isle of Wight.

Victims Of Light Aircraft Crash Named
The victims of a light aircraft crash in Newtownards have been named as Philip Murdock and Caroline Mawhinney. The were both members of the Ulster Flying Club and died in the crash just after 8.20pm on Tuesday. Mr Murdock was the Managing Director of security firm Envision Intelligent Solutions in Craigavon.
