Smith Commission To Hold First Meeting In Edinburgh
The first meeting of the Smith Commission, established to debate more powers for the Scottish Parliament, is to be held today (Wednesday) in Edinburgh.
Representatives of the Scotland's main political parties will meet with the commission's chairman Lord Smith of Kelvin at the Green Investment Bank in the city.
The commission was set up following devolution proposals put forward by the SNP, Labour, the Conservatives, the Lib Dems and the Scottish Green Party.
It is understood that the commission is expected to produce a report by 30 November.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has said Scotland generated 7% more renewable energy in 2012 than the previous year. In its latest report, it said 14,600 Gigawatt hours were generated in Scotland from renewable energy sources such as wind and hydro.
