Farmer Jailed For Forging Will

A farmer who attempted to forge a will from a pensioner to inherit most of her £1 million estate has been jailed for three years.

53-year-old Francis Tiernan from Forkhill pleaded guilty to the charges earlier this month.

Catherine 'Kitty' Haughey was found dead in her flat above the Slieve Gullion pub, which she owned, in 2004.

Tiernan, who was her Godson, admitted changing the will so that he was the main beneficiary of her estate.

Her will was changed weeks before she died.
