L'Derry Regeneration Project Complete

A regeneration project at Clarendon Street Conservation Area in L'derry has been completed.

The news has been welcomed by Social Development Minister Mervyn Storey. The final phase of the project involved a £360,000 Public Realm Scheme in Great James' Street and Little James' Street. The total cost of the scheme was £1.2m.

Commenting on the investment, Minister Storey said: "This significant enhancement to the centre of Londonderry will greatly benefit both locals and visitors to the city alike.

"Both Great James' Street and Little James' Street have been finished to the high standards befitting their location within one of the city's conservation areas.

"The work adds to the city centre's unique identity, enhancing both its unique heritage as a Walled City, and builds upon its recent rebirth as the first UK City of Culture."
