Halloween 'Warmest On Record'
This year's Halloween is the warmest on record in the UK, according to BBC weather.
The BBC said a temperature of 23.5C has been recorded in Gravesend, Kent, which surpasses the previous record of 20.0C.
But the increase isn't restricted to one location, with other parts of southern England and the north coasts of Wales and Norfolk also hitting 20C and above.
The previous record Dartford, Kent, was set in 1968 and was matched in north-eastern parts of Greater London in 1989.
The news follows a pattern of rising temperatures, with nine out of 10 months so far this year having been warmer than average, the BBC said.
Many claim this to be the beginning of the effects of climate change on world temperatures.
The UK mean temperature for October so far is 11C, 1.5C above the long-term average between 1981 and 2010. However, it is still a few degrees short of the 12.2C record set in 2001.

March 'Second Coldest' On Record
March was the second coldest month in the UK since records began, the Met Office has revealed. The UK mean temperature for March was 2.2 °C, making it 3.3 °C below the 1981-2010 long-term average for the month. March 2013 has now been confirmed as joint second coldest with March 1947. First is 1962, which had a mean temperature of 1.9 °C.

July 2006 was the warmest month across the UK since records began in 1914, the Met Office has reported. The Met Office confirmed that the UK mean daily temperature for the month was 17.8C, breaking the previous record of 17.5C which was set jointly in July 1983 and August 1995.
