Murder Investigation Launches Into Fatal Knife Attack

Essex Police have launched a murder investigation after one man died and another was left in critical condition following a knife attack in Southend.

Police said two men were discovered with "serious injuries" at a property in St Ann's Road, Southend at about 22:30 on Wednesday night.

One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man is in critical condition in hospital.

A forensic examination of the scene is ongoing.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw a group of men running in St Ann's Road between 22:00 and 23:00 GMT, to come forward.

Drug trial pair released from hospital
Two of the six men who were hospitalised after a drugs trial went wrong have been allowed to return home. Doctors at Northwick Park Hospital said that the two men had responded "very well" to treatment and had made an "excellent recovery". However, four men remain in hospital.

Woman In Critical Condition Arrested Over Death Of Child
Police in Bradford have arrested a woman on suspicion of murder after she was found unconscious in the backyard of a property in the city. The woman, understood to be 36-years-old, was found along with her two-year-old daughter at the back of a property in Delamere Street on Tuesday morning. They had both suffered serious injuries.

Man Dies While Trying To Save Another Man From Tube Tracks
A man hit by a tube train while trying to rescue another man who had fallen onto the tracks, has died. Police reported that a 35-year-old, from London, was hit by a Tube train at Old Street Station at about 12:22 on Sunday. He died later in hospital. It is understood he had been attempting to rescue another 32-year-old man who fell onto tracks.
