Mini Cooper Left Parked On Tramline 'Lifted' Out Of The Way
A Mini Cooper left parked on double-yellow lines and blocking a tramline, had to be "lifted" out of the way after a 20 minute "stand-off".
It is understood the car was parked blocking tramlines near Nottingham Trent University for more than 20 minutes. It was assumed that the owner was likely to be nearby, however, despite the tram driver loudly sounding his horn, no one returned to the car.
After about twenty minutes a second tram arrived behind the first.
According to reports, a group of bystanders intervened and lifted the Mini Cooper off the tramline and onto the pavement. The incident caused ongoing delays on the tramline service.
When the driver eventually returned to her car it was revealed that she had been in a nearby coffee shop.
The female driver was issued a penalty charge notice.

Matab Uddin, 59, of Blackshots Lane, Essex was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving and fraud. The court heard how police were called on Sunday, 17 November 2013 at about 1:45am to reports of a man injured on Essex Road.

Shrien Dewani Cleared Of Honeymoon Murder
Businessman Shrien Dewani has been cleared of taking part in the murder of his wife in South Africa. Judge Jeanette Traverso said the prosecution failed to put forward enough evidence to prove he had planned the murder. Anni Dewani, 28, was shot dead in Cape Town in November 2010. Mr Dewani, 34, always denied he had any part in the murder.
