Man Jailed For Six Years For Supplying Drugs

A man has been jailed for six years after police seized over £400,000 worth of drugs in Rochdale.

Andrew Mcfadyen of Oxendale Drive, Middleton, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to the supply of amphetamines.

At Manchester Crown Court Crown Square he was sentenced to three years and eight months for the supply of class B drugs and two years four months on recall to prison.

On Tuesday 21 October 2014 police executed a warrant at Eycott Drive, Middleton, where they discovered large quantities of amphetamines with a street value of around £400,000 and also mobile phones.

Buoygues UK Wins Design & Build Contract

Buoygues UK has scooped a new design and build contract.

Selected by developers Morgan Capital Partners LLP, the contract will see the demolition of existing offices and the construction of a new eight-floor office building at 45 Cannon Street, including a Category A fit-out and the addition of 13,000 sq m of retail space on the ground floor.

As part of the works, the entrance to Mansion House underground station will also be refurbished as it sits on the site.

Bouygues UK is aiming for a BREEAM Excellent rating on the project.

The project is due for completion in 2016.

Work To Begin On A1 In Hertfordshire

Work to reduce congestion on the A1(M) at junction 6 (Welwyn) in Hertfordshire will start next week.

The £4.5 million scheme will ease congestion at this important junction, improve journey time for road users and improve safety. It is part of the Government's £317million pinch point programme, which aims to boost local economies by reducing congestion and delays at key locations.

The work is due to start on Monday 8th December.

Brixton Drug Gang Get Long Sentences
A gang of criminals who ran a lucrative drug dealing network from a car tyre shop in Brixton were sentenced last week to a total of 81 years in prison. Nine men, who were previously convicted of conspiracy to supply class A drugs, appeared at Kingston Crown Court today to hear their sentences.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

77 Years For Rochdale Child Sex Gang
The nine men found guilty of operating a child sexual exploitation ring have been jailed for a total of 77 years. The trial, which ended on Tuesday, heard how the men groomed young vulnerable girls in Rochdale.

'Lights Out' To Mark Anniversary Of WWI
