Mivan Workers Win Compensation
An industrial tribunal has awarded former workers at Co Antrim construction firm Mivan compensation after they lost their jobs without warning.
The company entered administration in January this year, with all staff at the firm losing their jobs.
A law firm brought the case of behalf of 144 former employees, arguing that they were entitled to a protective award as they had not been consulted before being made redundant.
It is understood the awards will be capped at eight weeks' pay and as the construction firm is insolvent, the compensation will be paid by the redundancy payments service.

Translink Workers Reject Pay Offer
Translink NI workers have rejected a pay offer from the public transport company. Unite, GMB and SIPTU confirmed that their members has "decisively voted to reject as inadequate" a pay offer made by Translink management. Workers were offered a 5% pay increase and a non-consolidated one-off payment of £1,500 for the 2023-2024 financial year.
