U2 Film New Music Video In Belfast

U2 are reportedly filming their new music video in Belfast.

It is understood to be the third day production has taken place.

Reports suggest that scenes are being filmed in the New Lodge area of the city, however it is understood none of the band are currently in Belfast.

In 2011, Rihanna filmed her music video for 'We Found Love' in the New Lodge area.

Appeal Launched Following Robbery

A bookmakers in L'Derry was robbed on Wednesday evening, police have said.

The incident happened at around 5.25pm at a premises in the Elmwood Street area.

A masked man is thought to have entered the premises and threatened a member of staff before making off with a sum of money.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police.

Increase In Number Of People Injured By Fireworks

The number of people in Northern Ireland injured by fireworks over the Halloween period this year has increased.

The figures have been released by the Department of Health, and cover the four weeks from 17 October to 14 November.

Over that period, 18 people received hospital treatment for fireworks-related injuries. Last year, just six people went to hospital.

Of those who reported to an A&E department, 10 were under the age of 18, while all but two were male.

They had suffered a total of 20 firework-related injuries, most of which were to their wrist or hand. Five people received treated for eye injuries and two for injuries to the face, head or neck.

It has been said that bangers, rockets and sparklers caused some of the injuries.

Delivery Van Hijacked In North Belfast

A delivery van has been hijacked in the Dhu Varren Parade area of north Belfast.

It happened at around 5.30pm on Wednesday (17 December).

Police have said that a man and his wife, who were out of their delivery van, were pushed out of the way. Two men then entered the vehicle and drove away.

The van, a white Ford Transit, was found shortly after 6.10pm in the Chief Street area of the city. A number of goods that had been in the van had been taken.

One of the men who hijacked the van is said to have been wearing a grey hooded top with white writing.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Reid said: "I would appeal to anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact CID at Tennent Street Police Station on the non emergency number 101.

"Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
