Weather Causes Widespread Disruption
Snow and icy conditions have caused widespread disruption throughout Northern Ireland.
On Wednesday, the Met Office issued an 'amber' alert for the region as snow started to fall, and continued overnight and into Thursday morning. While a number of areas only received a few, light snow showers, other areas received up to eight inches of snow. The conditions have led to widespread traffic disruption, while more than 120 schools have been forced to close.
Today (Thursday), the Met office updated its forecast and has since issued a 'yellow' warning as snow showers continue to affect NI. There is also a risk of ice on the roads as temperatures are expected to remain low until next week.
The latest alert will be in place until 11am on Friday (30 January).
