Body Found In Field Believed To Be Missing Artist

Gwent Police said they believe a body found on Tuesday is of missing artist Roger Cecil.

The 72-year-old renowned artist from Abertillery, has been missing since Saturday when he left Royal Gwent Hospital.

A body was discovered in a field off Treherbert Road in Cwmbran by a member of the public.

Police said that an informal identification has not yet taken place.

The death is being treated as unexplained.

Body Found In Search For Missing Woman
A body has been discovered in Sutton Mill by police investigating the disappearance of Jennifer Hayman. The body was found at 18:00 on Thursday. Formal identification has not yet been made, but police said that Ms Hayman's family have been informed of the find. A post-mortem is due to be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Gwent Police Appeal For Missing 13-Year-Old Boy
Gwent Police have appeal for help in tracing a missing 13-year-old boy. Michael Driver has been missing from his Monmouthshire home since Saturday 12 October. Michael is described as 4ft 5in (1.3m) tall, with dark hair and is of slight build, when last seen he was wearing a black hooded top and jeans.

UK Troops Get Boost To Personal Protection
British troops fighting in the frontline are to receive new body armour and helmets this autumn, it has been announced. Over 10,000 sets of the enhanced Mark 7 helmet and the Osprey Assault body armour have been ordered from companies across the UK, under initial contracts worth around £16 million.

ATM Fraudster Jailed After Baby Cash Photo Found
An East Yorkshire fraudster has been jailed after a picture he took of his baby surrounded by bank notes as a boast was uncovered by police. Adu Bunu, of Wakefield, was convicted at Hull Court of making copies of more than 2,000 cashpoint cards and clearing funds from his victim's accounts.

'Dead Harry' Statue To Go On Display In Central London
A sculpture of a "dead" Prince Harry in Army uniform clutching a cameo locket of his late mother, Princess Diana, is coming to London next week. The statue, by American artist Daniel Edward, is intended to be seen as a memorial to honour those who are willing but unable to serve in Iraq.
