Civil Service Redundancy Scheme Opens
A voluntary redundancy scheme has opened at the Northern Ireland Civil Service, which aims to cut around £90 million a year in salaries.
It is hoped around 2,400 applicants will be found before March, 2016.
One months pay for each year of services, up to a maximum of 21-and-a-half months, is expected to be offered to the majority of redundancy applicants.
Alongside the redundancy scheme, promotions and recruitment for the civil service have been frozen.

Sexual Offences Legal Advisers Scheme Extended To March 2025
A Sexual Offences Legal Advisers (SOLA) pilot scheme is to be extended until March 2025, Justice Minister Naomi Long has announced. First introduced in April 2021, the SOLA scheme provides free, independent legal advice and advocacy to adult complainants in serious sexual offence cases, up to the point of trial.

SDLP 'Not Planning' For Job Losses
There's been an angry reaction to news of expected job losses within the Planning Service. After the news that the construction downturn has left the jobs in jeopardy was revealed at the weekend, SDLP Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA Tommy Gallagher has reacted angrily to the news that cut backs may well leave more local people unemployed.
