Three Men Charged With Burglary And Fraud

West Midlands Police have charged three men with burglary and fraud after they were caught allegedly trying to con £300 from a 99-year-old woman in Birmingham.

Officers attended an address in Walmley on Monday following reports of suspicious activity by men knocking on doors and cold-calling residents.

A 40-year-old man from Blakenhall was arrested from the home of a 99-year-old woman, and a 32-year-old man from Great Wyrley was also arrested. A 20-year-old man, also from Blakenhall, was arrested from a parked van.

All three are suspected of posing as workmen and trying to trick vulnerable residents into handing over cash for bogus work. They are set to appear before Birmingham magistrates later today charged with burglary and fraud, while the older man also faces two counts of assaulting police officers.

Police Appeal After Woman Forced To Commit Sex Act

Essex Police have launched an investigation after a woman was reported to have been forced to commit a sex act on a man in Chelmsford.

The offence is believed to have taken place close to the Meadows Shopping Centre in the town between 1am and 2am on Sunday 22 February 2015.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police Find Wanted Man Hiding In Loft

A man who was unlawfully at large has been found hiding in the attic of a house in Salford.

Shortly after 1am today, Tuesday, officers attended a house on East Lancashire Road, Worsley.

A 21-year-old man, who absconded from Kirkham prison, was found in the loft.

He was arrested on suspicion of kidnap and absconding from prison and taken into police custody.

Four other people at the address were arrested on suspicion of harbouring an offender and remain in police custody.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Teenager Arrested Over Rape Of 12-Year-Old Girl
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of 12-year-old girl in east London. Three males lead the girl to a "secluded" end of a street in Walthamstow at around 00:15 on Saturday before two of them attacked her, held her down and raped her.
