Elderly woman in shock following robbery

An elderly woman has been treated for shock after her south Belfast home was robbed on Sunday.

The incident occurred at the woman's home at Rosetta Park at around 8pm last night.

The 84-year-old was confronted by two masked men after going to investigate noises in an upstairs bedroom.

The men ordered the pensioner to sit still before ransacking the house and escaping with a sum of money.

Three men were sentenced for offences linked to a drugs and money laundering operation in the Ballymena area yesterday, 31 January. At Antrim Crown Court, Troy Carley (27), Neil Lowry (30) and Marc Mitchell (32) were sentenced for a number of offences.

Arrests Made At Traffic Collision Following L'Derry Burglary
Police responding to a road traffic collision in L'Derry last night, Wednesday 20 March, arrested two men in connection with an earlier burglary in the area. At 23:55 last night, police received a report of a collision on Gortinure Road involving a black Audi TT. The vehicle was found abandoned in a ditch.

Four Charged In Connection With Blake Newland Murder
Four people are due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court charged in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Blake Newland. The Limavady teenager died after being found with serious stab wounds at a house in the town on Friday, 02 February. Detectives investigating the murder, have now charged two men, aged 27 and 29, with murder.
