Solomons to step down as Ulster coach
Ulster coach Alan Solomons has announced he is to step down in his capacity as director of rugby to take over as coach at Northampton.
The South African will take over the Zurich Premiership side when his contract with Ulster ends in May.
It is expected that Solomons will take his current assistant coach, Adrian Kennedy to England with him.
Solomons will replace New Zealander, Wayne Smith who has been offered a coaching role with the All Blacks.
Monday's announcement comes just a few short days after Ulster maintained its top of the table position in the Celtic League after beating the Ospreys 31-19 at Ravenhill.
The 54-year-old Cape Town born coach also led Ulster to the Celtic Cup earlier in the season after beating Edinburgh in the final.
