Belfast never tasted so good

More than thirty of Belfast’s most popular eateries are gearing up for the launch of Eat Out 04, the city’s first ever official restaurant week.

Belfast Visitor and Convention Bureau (BVCB), in partnership with Belfast City Council, has organised the event which takes place between 10 - 17 October.

Some of Belfast’s most popular hot spots will be offering special set menus, providing a varied selection of delicious meals ranging in price from £5- £15 at lunch and from under £10 at dinner.

Many restaurants will also be including additional special offers and complimentary extras designed to give customers the best possible value for money whilst encouraging them to try something new.

Councillor Nelson McCausland, Chair of the Tourism and Promotion Sub Committee, Belfast City Council, highlighted the rich variety of the dining experience in Belfast.

“Through the years, Belfast’s media chefs have helped to put the city on the culinary map and have created awareness of the superb ingredients available from Northern Ireland’s rich natural larder,” he said.

“The flair, commitment and inventiveness exhibited by our young chefs and restaurateurs can now be tasted and enjoyed in restaurants, cafés, bars and hotels throughout Belfast.”

The initiative has been modelled on similar schemes in America and is being promoted through www.gotobelfast.com, the Whatabout? Guide, street banners in the city centre and table top ‘stand ups’ in participating outlets.
