Woman robbed outside City Hospital

Detectives in south Belfast have appealed for information after a woman was robbed close to Belfast City Hospital during the early hours of Sunday morning.

At around 1.20am the woman was walking from the hospital towards the Lisburn Road when a man in his early 20’s approached her from behind and attempted to steal her handbag.

During the ensuing struggle the victim was pulled to the ground and dragged for a short distance.

The robber managed to get the bag, containing a sum of cash, a number of bankcards, a Sony Ericsson mobile phone and a number of personal items, before running off towards the Donegall Road exit. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

The robber is described as being around 5’9’ tall, of thin build, with dark hair and was wearing a tan jacket and tan trousers.

Anyone who witnessed the robbery or who saw anyone matching the man’s description running off towards the Donegall Road exit is urged to contact detectives at Musgrave Street on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

PSNI Appeal For Information Following Banbridge Shooting
PSNI Detectives have issued an appeal for information following a shooting incident in Banbridge on Friday, 12 April. Shortly after 8pm, it was reported that a man aged in his 40s had been shot in his abdomen while in the car park on Rathfriland Road. Taken to hospital, his condition has been described as serious.
