Man dies in road traffic accident

A man has died following a road traffic accident in Co Tyrone at the weekend.

The victim, who is believed to be in his 40’s, was killed when his car was in collision with a 4x4 vehicle on the Moneyraw Road, outside Cookstown, at about 8.30pm on Saturday.

A woman and her daughter injured in the crash were taken to hospital however their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Meanwhile, a teenager is said to be in an ill but stable condition in hospital after the car he was travelling in collided with a parked trailer in Co Down on Sunday.

The victim was in a car that lost control on a bend on the Old Road near Poyntzpass and slid underneath the trailer.

Three other people in the vehicle were able to escape the wrecked vehicle however fire crews had to be called to free the fourth who was taken to hospital.

Their conditions are not yet known however police have confirmed that one man who was arrested in connection with the accident has been released on bail.

A 59-year-old man wanted in the Republic of Ireland has been arrested in south Belfast by the PSNI's International Policing Unit. Wanted to stand trial for drugs offences that occurred in the Kilkenny area in 2012.

Murder Investigation Launches After Man Found In West Belfast
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man found in west Belfast. On Wednesday, 06 March, a man was found with serious injuries in the Cupar Street area just before 8pm. The man was treated at the scene by emergency services before being transferred to hospital. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
