Coventry terror suspects appear in court

Three terror suspects arrested in Coventry last week have appeared in court charged with providing funds for international terrorists.

Frzana Khan, a 41-year-old mother-of-two of Anerly Way, Coventry, is charged with two counts of conspiring to provide money and other property to Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, a group which has reportedly been described as one of the largest and best trained separatist groups in Kashmir.

The two men, Mohammed Ajmal Khan, 30, of Broad Street in Coventry and Palvinder Singh, 29 of Freeman Street in the city, both face the same charges. Mr Khan has also been charged with membership of a terrorist organisation and directing terrorism.

The charges relate to the period between March 29, 2001 and March 1 this year.

The three defendants appeared before Bow Street Magistrates' Court in Central London today. The trio only spoke during the hearing to confirm their identities and addresses.

They have all been remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on March 14.
