Rector found guilty over indecent images
|A Church of Ireland Rector has been found guilty of possessing indecent images of young boys.
The Reverend Stephen Crowther, 47, from Lisnaskea in Fermanagh was placed on the sex offenders register for six years and fined £2,500.
The interception of a package containing a video with scenes of naked boys by customs officers led to a search of the rectory in December 2005. Police raided the rectory on Castlebalfour Road and found other videos and files on a computer.
None of the images were found to be sexually explicit, but the court heard that they did contain images of naked young boys.
Crowther admitted to police that he was deeply ashamed of being a homosexual, which he thought was very wrong. He also said that he had an interest in naturism.
