Victims Commissioner Post Re-Advertised
The post of Victims Commissioner in Northern Ireland is to be re-advertised.
The Stormont First Minister and Deputy First Minister, Ian Paisley and Martin McGuinness, said they were urging new applicants as they believe it would strengthen the office if the selection process was carried out under devolution.
Mr Paisley and Mr McGuinness will interview new candidates and they also said they would like to appoint a successor to RUC widow Bertha McDougall by the end of the year.
The First Minister said: "I know there has been a lot of ill-informed speculation that the Deputy First Minister and I have been at loggerheads over the appointment but that simply isn't true.
"Yes, we have taken time to consider the best way forward but that is just as it should be.
"This is an important appointment impacting on some of the most vulnerable people in our society and we need to know that victims and survivors, who have suffered so much for so long, are represented by the very best person for the job."

Education Minister Welcomes Progress On Teacher's Pay
Education Minister, Paul Givan, has welcomed further progress on a pay settlement for teachers following the Department of Finance's approval of the pay award. All five recognised teachers' unions (INTO, NAHT, NASUWT, NEU, UTU) have signalled their acceptance of the teachers' pay offer for 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24.

River Lagan Flood Protection Works Underway
Infrastructure Minister John O’Dowd has announced that flood protection refurbishment work on the River Lagan has got underway. The work costing £900k is being carried out by local building contractor Maurice Flynn and Sons who are replacing the gates at the Hilden and Lambeg river control structures on the River Lagan.

The announcement on how the 'older agenda' is to be addressed was made today by the Assembly's First and Deputy First Ministers.
