Dead End For Cemetery Plan? |
|
Opposition is growing to the proposed location for a new cemetery for the greater Belfast area.
Castlereagh councillors have united against Belfast City Council's plans to take extra land in their borough because its current cemetery space is swiftly declining.
It is looking at a site on the Lisleen Road, near to the existing cemetery at Roselawn.
Landowners have opposed the move and although Castlereagh does not actually own the land, its opposition will make it more difficult for Belfast to get the necessary planning permission.
