Three Bodies Found At Beachy Head |
|
The bodies of a man, woman and young boy have been found at the foot of Beachy Head cliffs in Sussex, police have confirmed.
The three unidentified bodies were recovered from the bottom of the cliff, near Eastbourne, on Monday morning.
Sussex Police alerted the coastguard that two bodies had been seen at around 8.20pm on Sunday. The Coastguard is recovering the bodies.
The trio are not thought to be local to the area and their deaths are not being treated as suspicious.
A Sussex police spokesman said the boy was thought to be that of a five-year-old. They also said the bodies were first spotted by a member of the Coastguard who was on a routine patrol with a cliff-top chaplain.
At more than 600ft, Beachy Head's cliffs are well-known location for suicide attempts.
